2026 AIHS WA Safety Symposium
The Australian Institute of Health & Safety, WA Branch invites you to join us for the 2026 WA Safety Symposium on Friday 20 November 2026.
The 2026 WA Safety Symposium brings together regulators, researchers, industry leaders and practitioners to explore the future of work health and safety through the themes of Embed, Innovate and Collaborate. The program begins with strategic insights from key decision-makers responsible for shaping WHS policy and regulation across Australia and Western Australia, providing attendees with a clear understanding of emerging priorities and the direction of the Safe Work Australia strategy. It then examines how innovation, research and programs such as the Mental Awareness, Respect and Safety (MARS) initiative are driving improvements in workplace health, safety and wellbeing, while recognising the contribution of AIHS Fellows, Mentors and practitioners who continue to advance the profession through knowledge sharing and leadership. The afternoon focuses on collaboration, exploring the future skills required of WHS professionals, including critical thinking, human factors, systems thinking and stakeholder engagement, before considering how practitioners can contribute to the profession's body of knowledge through evidence-based practice, professional networks and industry-led research.
A key objective of the symposium is to support the ongoing professional development of every attendee. Throughout the day, participants will gain practical insights, learn from leading experts, engage in discussions on contemporary WHS challenges and explore emerging trends that will shape the profession in the years ahead. Beyond the formal presentations, attendees will have opportunities to build valuable professional relationships through networking sessions, connect with peers facing similar challenges and discover the many development pathways available through AIHS, including mentoring, professional certification, special interest groups, events and continuing professional education. Whether new to the profession or an experienced practitioner, the symposium provides an opportunity to expand knowledge, strengthen professional networks and invest in future career growth while contributing to safer and healthier workplaces.
