Danika Casey is a Special Counsel in our Employment & Industrial Relations team, specialising in work health and safety. With more than 12 years of specialist experience, Danika advises clients across the mining and resources, energy, construction, transport and manufacturing sectors on all aspects of work health and safety law. She has extensive experience supporting organisations in relation to serious workplace incidents, including investigations, regulator engagement, prosecutions and coronial proceedings. Danika also advises on psychosocial risk management, contractor management and the work health and safety aspects of major infrastructure projects and strategic workplace change initiatives, helping clients navigate complex and evolving workplace risks. Prior to joining JWS, Danika was embedded on secondment within BHP's Health and Safety and Coal legal teams. Working as part of an in-house legal function, she gained first-hand insight into the operational and commercial realities of managing safety risk in a large and complex resources business. This experience informs her practical and commercially focused approach to advising clients.
